Mauro Berrettini was born in Buonconvento in the province of Siena in 1943, studied at the Art Institute of Siena and the Art School of Carrara. After teaching art education in schools has been actively devoted to sculpture. In 1981 he collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Pietro Cascella, Pomodoro, Costantino Nivola and Joe Tilson, the project "Field of the Sun" at Punta Navaccia in Tuoro sul Trasimeno Lake Trasimeno. In 1984 he made ??the setting of Piazza Siena at Artemio Franchi. He continued to collaborate on a collective sculpture in particular environmental contexts and urban neighborhoods. Among these, the sculpture park created for the new district dell'Agrestone in Colle Val d'Elsa. He is the author of fountains and sculptures in various Italian cities. "The Hanging Stone" is one of his large sculpture that is located in the Chianti Sculpture Park. He has held two solo exhibitions in Siena, where he lives and works in 1984 and 1999.
